IPE sections are used in construction as support for buildings to ensure that the structure is strong enough.
An IPE section is also known as an I-beam. The web withstands hard forces, while the flange endures bending movements the beam experiences. Sizes are determined by the web, flange and weight per metre. The IPE has a parallel flange.
